ORIGINAL Textile DESIGNS
Textiles and textile design have always been a passion. The passion began in Florence with and Introduction to textile designer Susan Nevelson, co creator of spirited floral fabrics with the legendary Ken Scott. Little did I know that our daily chats would influence my thoughts about textile design and process almost 40 years later.
Collaboration can be challenging, fun, insightful and opens up our design process. It creates opportunities to to think outside your personal aesthetic or approach to the creative process. It is a chance to recognize your strengths for your expertise while learning something new.
The “Featherlegs” collection is inspired by movement of the pantalets worn by women during the 1800’s particularly out west; the wild wind would whip the pantelet like the flutter of the chicken leg feathers. This ongoing collaboration is with Cat Redfern of Redfern Design located somewhere in Wyoming.
